YAmazing Race with MGnificent Prizes!
Welcome to my stop on the YAmazing Race with MGnificent prizes! This is my first time to take part and I am very excited to be participating! If this is your first stop in the race, welcome! If you are a seasoned vet, welcome back! And if you have no idea what I am talking about, maybe you just dropped by to learn more about “The Sinister Sweetness of Splendid Academy” and have ended up stumbling upon an opportunity to win some great prizes.
What is this?
The Apocalypsies, a group of 2012 debut authors, is hosting a blog hop in which you go from one blog to the next, reading about a different book at each stop. When you reach the end of each leg of the race, you answer questions about the books for the chance to win some fabulous prizes. You can find full details and the race starting line on the Apocalypsies site. The race officially starts at noon (EST) on October 22nd, 2012 so, if you are reading this before then, hold on and come back on the 22nd.
The Sinister Sweetness of Splendid Academy
by Nikki Loftin
Lorelei is bowled over by Splendid Academy–Principal Trapp encourages the students to run in the hallways, the classrooms are stocked with candy dishes, and the cafeteria serves lavish meals featuring all Lorelei’s favorite foods. But the more time she spends at school, the more suspicious she becomes. Why are her classmates growing so chubby? And why do the teachers seem so sinister?
It’s up to Lorelei and her new friend Andrew to figure out what secret this supposedly splendid school is hiding. What they discover chills their bones–and might even pick them clean!
Mix one part magic, one part mystery, and just a dash of Grimm’s Hansel and Gretel, and you’ve got the recipe for a cozy-creepy read that kids will gobble up like candy.
Ready to hop to the next stop?
Make sure you’ve read the above synopsis carefully because you’ll be asked a question about “The Sinister Sweetness of Splendid Academy” at the end of this let. If you are ready to move on, you can find the next hop right here.
