Wish Girl Reading on TeachingBooks (& How I Got My Nickname)

Happy August, friends! I’m a Texas girl, so I AM happy. I love the heat – even in August. 100+ degrees? I’m cool with that. (Especially since Central Texas has some of the best watering holes around – close enough for me to take a dip.)

August this year is going to be full of surprises and fun on my blog (giveaways, awkward photos, you know what I’m like). Today’s offering is a new thing for me: a reading I did of a few paragraphs from Wish Girl, along with a “behind the scenes” story of how the story came to be.

And then… a pronunciation guide for my name! Funny, since it’s pretty straightforward. To spice it up, I added some secret backstory – where I got my nickname, and why. Enjoy!

A huge thanks to Teachingbooks.net for recording the clips. Now, I have to crawl back into the Cave of Eternal Revisions… Drums, drums in the deep…
